Delegates will use the revised Teacher Assessment Frameworks for 2017-18 to work with LA moderators to moderate teacher assessment judgements. This is also an opportunity to externally quality assure in-school moderation.
Moderation is a crucial part of teacher assessment. It allows teachers to benchmark their judgements, while helping to ensure that standards are consistent and outcomes are reliable. Schools should ensure that their teacher assessment judgements are moderated with other schools. Teachers will bring collections of year 6 pupils' writing which they will moderate with LA moderators and colleagues from other schools using the Teacher assessment Frameworks at the end of KS2 (2018-19) and the Standard and Testing Agency's exemplification materials. The professional discussion and external moderation provides a valuable opportunity for professional development.
Teachers will have supported in each, with the help of LA moderators to benchmark their year 6 teacher assessment of writing judgements.
This is a twilight session. Teachers are reminded to bring collections of pupils' writing from across the curriculum.
