An overview of Child Protection and Local Procedures for reporting and referring

Outline

3 hour course which will support new practitioners or existing practitioners to renew/refresh their basic child protection knowledge and procedures for reporting abuse or suspected abuse.

Description

Includes practical activities and face to face discussion. Looking at the areas of abuse, including FGM and prevent. Overview of the legal and statutory requirements for reporting and referring suspected abuse.

Outcomes

Practitioners will be able to identify signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect and know what to do if they are worried about a child

Please note parking at Aveley Children's Centre is very limited. If the barrier is down please do not wait for someone to open it for you as there is no reception staff based at the Centre and this causes the entrance to the school to be blocked. Please park outside the centre in the local side streets.

Audience

All new practitioners with no previous training, practitioners who need to update training to meet the EYFS requirements of every 3 years.
